Baseball and a BBQ for Memorial Weekend

Andy was going to work on Monday (Memorial Day) and so we planned a fun filled day the day before. We headed to the baseball game a little early and Etta and Gibson played in the little Boondocks fun area before the game. We had friends coming over for a BBQ, and at the bottom of the 9th the game was tied and going into extra innings. We had to leave before the game was over. A little hard for Andy to do but he was a good sport.

Etta loves the tunnel slide!

Gibby eating the playground chips

We get at least two balls a game and Gibby is starting to think it is so fun to have his very own ball.

"Cheese"

I finally have my backyard entertainable. Still needs a little bit more work on some dirt patches and grass patches. But I love having a backyard. We had a great time with our friends and their families. We ate delicious bratwurst and brat-kabobs with corn on the cob, chips and bean salad. Throw in a cheesecake or two for d
essert and you have a great BBQ.

All the kids played in the pool and sand box. The water was freezing but the kids just love sliding down the little slide and playing in water.

Hatcher went around everywhere trying to steal food. His favorite place was Gibby and his chair.

Gibby thought it was so funny.

Andy gave him a turkey dog. He put it in his mouth and Hatcher jumped up and took it right out of his mouth.

This ended our fun little pre Memorial Day fun.

A Change of Plans

We had our last day of Preschool on Wednesday and we learned about Zoo animals. We had all planned on going to the Zoo the next day for our Last field trip. Due to some rainy weather we changed plans and went to the Discovery Gateway. I really enjoy going and Etta has a ton of fun. This time Gibson was a lot more into the different areas and had some fun also.
When we go there a few school groups where coming in and the main areas were very crowded. We played in the toddler area for the first hour and all the kids had a lot of fun.

Gibby loved the blocks and would not let go even while ridding Elmo.

Etta swimming like a fishie, and sitting on a doll house chair.

All the fun kids in the boat.

Gibby and his friend Jonathan learning about sharing.

Riden' the buckin' blue doggie, holding on for 8 seconds!

We had signed the girls up for one of the classes offered there. It was time to head to class. They learned about rock crystals and rocks. It was darling they had to wear little lab coats and they looked at the rocks through magnifying glasses. Gibson watched the activity on a cute little chair and was just a great little boy.

Sitting really good before class started.

Holding little white rock crystals before they grow.

See they grew and changed colors.

Looking very closely at fun rocks.

The teacher was breaking a rock for each child to get a little piece. The girls thought it was too loud.

Being such a good boy.

After class it was still pretty busy with school groups. We played at the water station for a bit and then a few of the Moms decided to go home.

Etta found a little boat and played with it for ever.

My friend Brynn and I went to lunch. After some delicious subway we headed back in to play for a little bit longer. The school groups where gone and we had the ball tube area all to ourselves (and a few other people too).
Etta loves sliding the balls down the wall I call the "plinko" wall. She wanted the balls higher on the wall so she learned she could stand on the box and reach higher. Gibby just loved trying to grab as many balls as he wanted. Then he would drop them and get more.

Learning to do it all herself.

Accomplishing her goal.

Gibby loved reaching for the different balls and putting them on the floor.

Then he found a whole box full, Jackpot!

We went upstairs and played a bit in the dress up stage area. The girls loved being frogs, beavers, ducks, and a turtle.

A little froggie and duckie - how cute!

Discovery changes out it's themed exhibit every couple of months and we weren't in luck. They were still building the new exhibit coming up in June. Just means we will be returning sooner than later.

We had so much fun and know this will be a favorite place on rainy and very hot days come this summer.

Playing Around

Etta and Gibson have had fun around the house last week. Etta dressed up like Snow White her favorite princess. Plus she calls herself Snow White, It is just darling. She wont answer to Etta and tells us "I'm Snow White". Once she was all dressed up she told me she wanted to wear Make-up. I pulled out my make up and let her do it all herself. It was darling watching her close her eyes and try to apply it above her eyes. She looked gorgeous. She danced and played and I took some darling pictures.

Gibson had fun playing with the sand "Out" of the sandbox. I was on the phone and Andy was cleaning up dinner. He let Etta outside to play and put Gibby by the door to watch. When I came back onto the Kitchen I saw Gibby in his chair with sand on his tray and said "Andy what are you thinking?, Gibby loves eating sand". Andy didn't know what I was talking about and came over and saw Gibby's tray.
Gibby was laughing, eating sand and throwing it everywhere. I than noticed Gibby's little helper. Etta was headed back up the stairs with more sand for her friend.

Loving the Sand

Deciding either to eat, throw or push around

They both keep us on our toes, laughing and in awe of what they can do. Just Darling!

A very busy Saturday - part 3

After our friends came and picked up there darling kids. I loaded up the truck with our futon, blankets and pillows. We eat Dinner and had a plate already for when Andy came back from working down at Out N Back.
We were headed to the Drive In. Yes, it's are first time this year and we loved going last year. You pay $7 a person over 10yrs old and get to watch two newly released shows. Plus you can bring in any food or drinks you want.
We found the perfect spot and settled down to wait for the shows to begin. Andy was still hungry so he went and got a pizza and we all ate it. Gibby love it and had fun in the blankets and Etta loved eating pizza with Daddy.

Blankets, Milk and Mommy!

Pizza and Daddy!

The show started around 9:15pm. The kids were a little fussy 20 minutes into the show but then fell fast asleep.

Etta cuddled up by Dad.

Gibby slept perfectly on Mommy chest.

After the first show we moved the kids to the bottom of the truck. Andy and I laid back and enjoyed the second feature. That ended our very busy Saturday. Great fun and there will be many more trips to the Drive In this summer.
