Celebrating Valentine's Day

When asked what the budget was for Valentine's gifts Andy said "$15". Ok, fun for me and the kids to be creative. On Friday we decorated cards with their little hands and feet prints and wrote on them "ten little fingers and ten little toes love you very much". I made him a card and wrote "love" things in it for him. We made some small lunches for the kids and headed off to the store. We picked up some balloons, a picture frame and bought homemade tamales. Great valentine's gifts, right?
I had talked with one of Any's friends before we headed to his work so he would let us in to surprise Andy. Well, I wrote his number down wrong and we ended up waiting over a half hour before I told the secretary to call Andy and say a package was waiting for him. Surprise, Happy Valentine's Day Daddy! It is better to get stuff at work then on Saturday so we celebrated it a day early.
Remember $15 was the budget. Well as we are walking upstairs at Andy's work he tells me that we are going to Cancun Mexico for a week... Happy Valentine's Day. My poor tamales are like well at least we fit the theme.

A very Surprised Daddy

We love our daddy!

We had a great time eating lunch with Daddy. Hey babe, Thanks for the trip I am so excited!

After Lunch we headed to my friend Tavi's house to decorate Valentine's cookies. She had homemade the sugar cookies and frosting. They were delicious! The kids had a blast eating and semi decorating. Then it was off to play. We had a great time and took home some great heart cookies. We can't wait to get together again.

iFly and pre Valentine's Dinner

Thursday evening Andy took me out for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We ate at a delicious place in Bountiful called Sigo Lily Cafe. We then headed up to Ogden to try out the iFly Indoor Skydiving. My sister Jenny gave us a coupon for flying for Christmas and we have been extremely anxious to use it. When we got there they let us go in on the next group with two other young boys. The instructor showed us a movie, then helped us learn the position of our body and a few hand signals. It was now time to head off to get geared up.

In the class room learning what we need to do

Once we were all dressed up and looked rather cool we headed to the wind tunnel. The two boys were first and then it was Andy's turn. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. His beard was blowing everywhere and it was amazing to seeing his whole body being blown in the air. I was extremely nervous but when it was my turn I fell right in and had a blast. With a lot of air being blown at you your face can't help but stay in a perma smile. Here is the video of our two rounds of flying. On our second flight he took us so high in the air and when you were coming down was just like you were falling out of an airplane. I was the only one that got to do a flip, yeah. It was crazy and so much fun!

Round 1

Round 2

What a blast Andy went a third time and got to learn how to change directions and then the instructor went in and he was going up so high and doing crazy tricks and stunts. They said that 3 years old and up can come fly so we might be heading up again to have Etta do it.

Fresh out of the air tunnel with blown on smiles

Our way cool Instructor. He said he has parachuted over 5,000 times!

We headed downstairs to the game room so Andy could ride the motorcycle game which had his Warrior bike on there. Then with the last token I played Wheel of Fortune which I landed right on the spin at won 60 tickets. We got a harmonica for the kids and headed home.

Thanks Jenny & Family that was the best Christmas gift ever!

Nickel Cade

We love the Nickel Cade and try to make a trip there every so often. The kids play a few fun games, ride toys and get tickets. Daddy gets to play his old school video games, pin ball and win tons of tickets too. Then the kids get dinky toys that break the next day and we all had a great time.

Mommy's favorite game, yet Gibby was the one playing it!

Gibby was a bit scared at first but then kept saying "Weeeeee"

Etta loves the rides too

Their off to the races

Riding the big rig together

He shoots and scores- look at that form :)

Etta showing Gibson how to get the tickets, he is a fast learner

Etta and mommy with her butterfly toy. (yes, it is now broken and in the garbage)

Always a fun night and of course ending with some ice cream!
