Pre-Halloween Dress Up

We have already dressed up three times for Halloween activities. Most likely we will be dressing up 3-4 more times by the time Halloween is over. I don't mind because I had so much fun making Etta and Gibson's costumes. Etta and Gibson on the other hand are not so fond of the costumes. I have had so many compliments when we go out that I will make their costumes again next year, and they will have to wear them whether they like them or not.
We went to my Mom's ward Halloween Carnival and had fun with my family. On Friday we went to our Music Makers class and everyone dressed up for a little Music Halloween Party. Then Saturday Etta, Gibson and I went downtown to the Gallivan Center and Etta actually got to say "Trick or Treat" a couple of times. She loves that all she has to say is "Trick or Treat" and people give her treats.
I love my little Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse!

4 Months and still growing

Gibby is just the best little boy. He might not be the biggest in weight or height (closer to the smallest) but he is still growing and we are having fun with his cute personality starting to shine.
Not to happy about being weighed.
Weighing in at 11. lbs 5.5 oz /in the 2% Centile and Length of 24.5 inches / 40% Centile.
Happy little boy just playing on the check up table. Little does he know the worst is yet to come.

Friday Family Night

I love the Fall there are so many activities to do. Friday I loaded up Etta and Gibson and put the Chariot in the back of the truck. When Andy came home from an appointment he had I told him to jump in and we were off. Where were we going? To Red Butte Gardens. They have an activity called Garden After Dark. We arrived around 6:00pm right when it opened and were handed a map and on the map where special locations to visit. The big fire bins were where you get our map stamped for a special prize at the end. We went through three fun mazes; one with red lights, a haunted maze with spider webs and a fun black light maze that made all of the white on our outfits light up.
In addition to all the fun mazes there was a big fire pit where you could bang on drums, a pumpkin painting area and tons of little booths for playing magical activities. Etta had a blast and it was great for kids her age.
After the gardens we were all pretty hungry and so we stopped at Ruby River for some dinner. Andy's steak had some problems so we got free dessert. Etta and I shared it because Andy didn't like what I chose (he told me to pick). But in the end it was so cute to have Etta have her way with the ice cream and cookie.
It was a warm evening and when we got home around 9:00 the family just laid on the grass for
for a little while. We posed for the camera, played with Hathcher and tackled Daddy.

Etta found some scary hands coming out of the ground in one of the mazes.

Daddy and Etta making music for Gibby.

Tossing bean bags is easy when you go all the way up to the cauldron.
Etta loved painting the pumpkin and when ever she got paint on her hand it had to be washed off right then.

Etta double fisting the ice cream.

Just daddy and me. Dog pile on Hatcher.

The three men in my life.

Fun Fall Festival

Etta,Gibson and I had a really busy Friday and it turned out we had tons of fun. Every Friday we get together with a small group of moms and children for a Music Makers class. We play songs, instruments and parachute. Etta loves it and Gibby is starting to bounce to the music. After music makers we grabbed some lunch and headed down to Thanksgiving Point to their Scarecrow Festival. We met up with my friend Sara and her daughter Anni who is Etta's age.
We went to the barn yard first and saw all the cows, chickens, ponies and ducks. It was all decked out with Halloween decorations. Inside the Scarecrow festival were tons of activities. There were fun carnival games for kids like throwing balls at the ghost mouth and throwing plastic chickens inside a witches cauldron.
They had huge blow up slides (which were Etta's and Anni's favorite). Every time they slide down it was "do again, do again". One time I had Gibby on the front pack so all three of us slide down the big slide.
They had a pumpkin patch that Etta loved and sat on top of almost all the pumpkins. There was a fishing booth and fun characters to take your pictures with. We ended the fun activity with a horse drawn wagon ride. Etta just sat really still at first and then as we started passing animals she was trying to see every one. The girls had so much fun I just wish Andy could have been with us.

Etta and Anni posing with Mr Pumpkin. Gibby just hanging out.

Etta loved jumping and laughed when she would fall down.

Gibson even loved sliding down the big slide once but Etta had to keep going.

I don't know why there was a train picture but we took a couple of shots with the train. Gibson cracks me up with this little smile.

Then came pictures with the pirates. And of course one with Captain Jack Sparrow.

Pumpkin patch, who wants a pumpkin Etta sat on?

Fishing booth and Etta's treasures a chicken mask, witches finger and a play watch. ( I loved these when I was little)

Last weeks top 2 pictures

There will be some fun pictures coming from this last weekend. But here are 2 pictures from last week that needed their own blog.
This should be an add for baby wigs. I am making hats for Gibby and Etta and Gibby's didn't turn out to well. I guess this is what he would look like with hair.

It wasn't even raining but Etta had to wear her rain boats and jacket everywhere. With a 2 yr old you pick your battles.

My Boy

Gibson hasn't been in to many pictures because he is always sleeping while wrapped up in my Moby Wrap. Here are a few pictures of him. He is getting so animated with flapping his arms, smiling and kicking his legs. He tries so hard to suck any of his fingers and I just have to keep putting the pacifier in his mouth. (It is so much easier to get ride of a pacifier than fingers) He will also suck on any toy Etta brings him. I make sure that she bring just "Gibby's toys".
He is getting bigger and I have pulled out 3-6 month clothing for him. It is funny though he still fits in his outfit we brought him home from the hospital in.
I love when my boy smiles.
How handsome!

San Diego Chargers

Last Saturday morning Andy and I headed off to San Diego - My mom and dad came up really early, picked up the children and dropped us off at the airport.
We arrived in San Diego and checked into our hotel that was one block away from Mission beach. We spent the whole day walking up and down the board walk. Then we met up with our friends Keith and Wendi for lunch. There was this awesome Wave House that you could watch people trying to surf while you eat.
They left and went to a wedding and so we rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk again. What a beautiful day and scenery. We ate dinner right on the beach and watched the sun go down.
We woke up the next morning and headed off to breakfast. Next we were off to the Stadium. At NFL games EVERYONE at the stadium parking lot tailgates. So we parked about 2 miles away. We made it to the Stadium parking lot. It was just crazy with tents, BBQ's and sports apparel.
The game was OK, the Chargers lost. But the experience was AWESOME.

Parking lot view.

The view from our seats.

Enjoying the game with good friends.

I will have to say the best part was Monday morning when I got a big hug from Etta and a big smile from Gibson.

The Circus is in town, the circus WAS in town

Andy surprised us with tickets to the Circus on Friday. I have never been thus Etta and Gibson also have never been. We headed to lunch at 12:00 for half off sushi and then went over to Gateway mall to kill time before the pre-show and show. At 2:00pm they let all who have tickets walk around the outside animal tents and so we walked around. We saw about 10 different colored tigers. Orange with black stripes and white with silver stripes and mixtures of both colors. Beautiful animals. The bigger tents housed the Zebras, miniature horses and big horses. I liked the Zebras the best they just reminded me of Hatcher. (but then any dumb looking animal reminds me of Hatcher) Elephants where Etta's favorites. She could just stare at them forever.
We then walked into the Energy Solutions arena for the pre-show. We got to go down on the floor and see all of the clowns and animals practicing before the show. We took some pictures and had some of the clowns sign our circus book. We headed up to our seats because it was now close to starting. Etta was getting sleepy.(No nap, not good)
The Circus began with an introduction of animals and clowns. They did a lot of fun acts from human 7 people high stacks, tight rope walking and Horses dancing. Then there was intermission and that pushed Etta over the edge. She was crying and squirming and tired. Once the show started again we watched the Elephants and they had some type of magic about them that put Etta to sleep. Gibson fell asleep in Andy's arms so here we are Andy and I with sleeping children watching the Circus. Right after it ended we jumped up and where at of the parking lot before most people where out of the arena.

Andy likes the Circus better then Disney on Ice. I like Disney on Ice better so maybe that means we will go to both each year. Enjoy the fun pictures.

Etta's favorite Elephant and the oldest one.

The family at the Circus!

Etta would make a great clown.

Maybe not she didn't seem to like the clowns very much.

Friends, Animals and Witches at Gardner Village

Thursday we met up with our friends Angelica and Layla for a fun afternoon. We ate at Archibald's for lunch and had to try the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were really good. At Gardner Village they are all decked out for Fall. Etta had a fun time counting the pumpkins. She can count up to ten so it was fun to have her practice. Then we walked around looking at witches and getting a treat at the bakery.
Now it was off to the ponies and petting zoo. Etta did a great job all by herself. She remembered the ponies from the state fair and was saying "Etta ride ponies".
At the petting zoo she had to touch every animal she could. There were goats, pigs, a calf, lambs and lamas that she touched. Along with the ducks and a donkey that ran away from her when she walked up to them.
Then that was the end of our afternoon so Etta and Layla gave goodbye hugs and it was so cute.

Gibson was there with us but slept most of the time. Good little baby!

Etta counting her pumpkins. These witches were the girls favorites.

Riding the ponies is fun to do. Good bye my friend.
