Discover Gateway and Daddy!

This last weekend we finally took Daddy to the Discovery Gateway. We love the museum and wanted to share the fun with Daddy.
Gibby loved the gears in the lobby and it took a bit to persuade him to actually enter the museum. We hit the ball area first. Gibson was in heaven. After a good 1/2 hour we explored the kids eye view and water area. I put the kids in the little toddler area for a bit and that is where our first little accident happened. Daddy was trying to help Gibson up the slide when his face hit the slide. Crying and blood brought help which lead us to the first aid station. Wet naps and a sucker made it all better.
We headed upstairs to play for a bit more. Etta loved the buildy stacky toy while Gibson loved the fan tunnel. Etta kept building her toys forever and did a great job connecting them all together. Second accident came while I was taking a picture of Gibby and his fan tunnel. He let his paper cup go up the tunnel and then tried to catch on the way down falling off the stool. This time a kiss to make it better was all he needed and he was off again.
Daddy loved making an earthquake and being the cameraman in the newsroom. We played at pretty much every exhibit and had a great time.
We got there a couple hours before it closed and stayed until it closed. Well, some kid pulled the fire alarm 15 minutes before closing so everyone had to leave a little early. We headed over to the cookie store for a cookie. What a great little treat and the museum was fun too!

Etta's first Dance Class

I don't know who was more excited me or Etta for her very first dance class. I have been sewing skirts and making her a darling dance bag. Once she was all dressed for dance she couldn't stop spinning around and around. Off we went to her dance studio. She went right into the room with the teacher, got ballet shoes on and sat down in front. Parents aren't allowed to watch until the end of the month so I will watch her class next week. Half way through they switched to tap shoes and off she was again for more dancing.

Etta all dressed up ready for dance class

She asked me if this was a cute pose. Just darling!

Her friend Sammie and Salote are going to be taking dance with her and they all loved their class. Sammie insisted on a picture with all three of them and we couldn't resist an opportunity for a blog picture.

I am sure there will be many more pictures of these darling little dancers. Etta would not get out of her dance outfit all day and has been dancing all around the house. I just love it!

Gibson's late 18 month check up

We went to Gibson's 18 month check up even thou he is closer to 19 months. It is hard to see the Dr during the week of Christmas. Just Gibby and I went and I loved just the one on one time I have had lately with him. Etta is in preschool two days a week and that extra time with just one child makes a big difference for them and me.

Look at that Happy little boy!

Length 30.5 inches

Weight 20.6 Lbs

My little baby boy is no baby anymore. He is now more of a toddler! He is saying over 30 words that I can understand. Daddy can understand 20 plus. He loves everything related to a "Ball". Gets way excited over every little thing. He dances whenever he hears music. He also love driving cars, firetrucks and trains around making the cute little "broom, broom" sound. He loves doing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" and we are working on the animals sounds. He has entered the tantrum phase (which Etta never did). This has been a bit different to handle. I have gotten a few pointers that seem to work a bit, and I hope it wont last to long. I do love him so much and keep telling myself "your going to miss this".

Play Date to Kangaroo Zoo

We just love this place and now there is one a little close to us. Last week a friend of mine and I invited all our friends to come have one big play date at Kangaroo Zoo. It was a big success, except Gibby hated it. Etta immediately went and started jumping here and there, climbing the 3 story slides, sliding down with ease and a few times going head first. Gibson on the other had hated the unstable ground of the blow up toys. I carried him on a few of them and we headed down the slides a couple of times. His face was priceless, a bit a fear mixed with excitement. I then noticed a baseball blow up toy that allowed you to hit a ball that was floating in the air by the blown up toy. Now this was more of Gibby's style. He loved this area swinging the bat over and over again and Yes hitting the ball everytime.

Making her way threw the maze.

No fear at all, headed up the biggest slide

Just as happy as can be in her own little Kangaroo Zoo World

Gibby taking a break from the slides

Off to find something more fun

Etta headed up another slide...

and going down head first!

Gibby's favorite toy in the whole place

Look at that form

Again and again and then of course a little tantrum when it was time to leave.

After the fun energy relieving activity we headed over to my friend April's house for some pizza, more toys and good company. We talked forever and I had a great time, Thanks for letting us hang out April!

The Planitarium

We headed out to the Planetarium a couple weeks ago. Etta has always loved the moon. Almost every night she wants to see it and sing her favorite "I see the moon and the moon sees you" song. When ever she talks about the moon she always says the cutest thing. "I want to go to space and see my moon", darling ambition.
We walked around all the little displays. They rotated the moon around the earth to see the different phases of the moon. We watched the Foucault pendulum, which was one of Gibby's favorites. My guess is it looked like a moving "ball". We also hit up the forecast station, walking on the moon and walking on mars. But the hardest thing was tearing them away from the audio-kinetic sculpture called "Newton's Daydream".
It was a fun little family activity that ended with some delicious Ice Cream

He loved pointing at everything

Very enthralled

Scoscia's first Dog Park and Bath

We ventured out on a beautiful day, at the beginning of January, to a dog park. We strapped the kids in their backpacks and started off at Memory Grove. Scoscia didn't want to walk on the leash but once she was off it she just tagged right along after Hatcher. Of course Hatcher was as happy as can be.
On the way back Etta walked on her own with the doggies. Every time another dog came by Etta or Scoscia Hatcher was very protective. He is getting older and now he is the protective Daddy Dog.

Scoscia trying to find anything that may have warmth

Hatcher found a stick!

Me and Gibby in the beautiful snow trail, Scoscia sitting on my shoe for warmth

Hatcher running around like crazy finding all the sticks he could.

Silly Scoscia still trying to get warm. She was just darling too!

I love this picture of my babies

After the dog park we gave Scoscia her first bath. She loved it. The water, scrubbing and then the warm towl wrapped around her.

They grow up way to Fast

Here is my gorgeous little girl. She was all ready for her first day as a Sunbeam. It seems like only yesterday I was dressing her in frilly 0-3 month old dresses and sticking a tiny bow on her head because she had very little hair. Now she is twirling, dancing and posing in her darling dress with a ton of beautiful curls. I had so much fun curling her hair and she just thought she was the most beautiful princess ever.
She didn't do so well at first in primary. She sat up front but kept looking in the back to make sure I wasn't gone. They sang fun songs and soon she was trying to participate. When it was time to leave for class they had a jump rope that all the sunbeams held on to and walked to class. She thought that was really great and went straight to class without looking at me once.
I just can't believe how fast she is growing up and how beautiful she is getting. She is my little princess.

She just loved her new dress

She was so cute striking little poses here and there

My Gibby

Gibby headed to the nursery and loved it. It is right during his nap time but he didn't care. The minute I dropped him off he didn't glace back at me at all. I left his blanket with them just in case he fell asleep (he will be playing or eating and then just decide he wants to sleep and will lay down on his blanket and sleep). When I went back to get him he was laughing and playing in the bubbles and wouldn't even look at me when I said his name. I asked how he did and they said great. He was a little mad when someone would come near his blanket. I wont be leaving that next time. I went over to him and he looked up at me and said "bables" and then continued to slap, catch and laugh when the bubbles landed on his head. I had to pick him up and tell him to wave goodbye to the bubbles in order to leave the nursery.
Gibby loves fun and enjoys the little things in life. His laugh and excitement is just darling and I just love my little boy.
