(These next few post will be really long and have tons of pictures, They are so Etta and Gibson can enjoy and look back on our fun and exciting trip to Disneyland)
We had a wonderful vacation weekend. But before I go into how fun, amazing, and what a magical time with wonderful weather we had, I need to start at the beginning.
We headed to the airport Thursday night a couple hours early. I dressed the kids in their pj's because they would most likely fall asleep. Our flight was to take off around 7:40. We had the kids, car seats, baggage and getting through security and wanted everything to go smoothly.
We checked in, took 3 items and checked them in and then headed towards our gate. The monitor now said the plane was delayed and so we sat down and turned on Alice in Wonderland.
The plane arrived and we found our seats. Both Etta and Gibson were great the whole flight. Gibson slept and Etta watched another movie "Sleeping Beauty".
We arrived around 9:30 PST, and headed towards the baggage claim. We were all excited to get into Grandma's, get a good night sleep and head to Disneyland the next day. Of course when you expect everything to move smoothly it doesn't. The two car seats came out quickly. We than waited over an hour for our last bag. It never came. Andy went and spoke to the baggage claim office and found out it never got put on the airplane. WHAT?
We were going to Disneyland the next day early in the morning. The kids had no shoes, clothes, diapers, and we had no change of clothes.
They told us it would be at the airport at 10:00am, but LAX and Disneyland were no where near each other. Next option, they were going to deliver it to Grandma's house around 12:00pm. We were then going to go to Wal-Mart as early as we could. Get clothes, shoes, diapers and a few little supplies to get us through the next day and they would reimburse us (hopefully).
I was so sad. I had darling outfits I had put together just for Disneyland for Etta and Gibson to wear. Plus clean clothes for Andy and me. But, there was nothing I could do but to get over it and focus on making the trip better.
We finally arrived to Andy's Grandmas house around midnight. Of course the kids were already asleep. Andy and I climbed into bed to get some sleep before having to wake up at 6:00am.
With out the suitcase we didn't have anything at all. With the kids still in their pj's and us still in our stinky clothes We headed over to Wal Mart to get what we needed. After about a hour of shopping with walked out of Wal Mart with clean clothes, underwear, deodorant, diapers, shoes for the kids, sunscreen and a few other toiletries which added up to be $203.

We loaded up and headed towards Disneyland. We needed to pick up our tickets at 8:30. We arrived at the Disneyland area at 8:15, grabbed the tickets and changed into our clothes in the back of a McDonald's. I didn't care Etta was so excited for Disneyland and so was I.
Tired, sad and frustrated that the airlines forgot our suitcase.
Our little white trash kids in their pj's with our not so cool PT Cruiser
Heading in to buy some clothes. Gibby is so happy to get more diapers.
After our fun shopping spree.

Oh dear. I'm so sorry about what happened. Poor little Gibby is missing a sock! That even made your story sadder. By Andy's expression....... umm well nevermind. I can't wait to actually hear about the Disneyland part!
Love, Jill
Well it sounds like you had a great trip even if it started out not as you expected. Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip...and see lots of pictures!
So so sad. That is something you hope never happens to you. Hopefully it won't ever happen again. I hope the rest of your trip made up for a poor beginning. Can't wait to hear about Disneyland!
That is awful!
your little babies could roll in mud and they still wouldn't look white trash! did the stupid airline riemburse you??? what's up with airlines lately?
oh my gosh, I just had a flashback. Remember when your mom and dad took your family to Disneyland and your suitcase fell off the car and you lost your clothes. I can't believe I just remembered that.
