Preschool Field Trip

Last week at Preschool the kids learned about the Earth and World around Us. They learned about Dinosaurs, fossils, leaves, rocks, etc. After Preschool all the moms meet up and had lunch then we headed over to the Utah Museum of Natural History. The kids had a great time looking at all the millions of rocks and crystals. Then it was off to the Dinosaur bones and fossils. Last we headed to the hands on area. They had a big dinosaur foot print, sandbox to dig for fossils and bones and tons of puzzles and learning games.
Etta loved hanging out with her friends, learning new things and of course playing.

Gibson West

Both my kids have their own blog that I post special things about them, stories and fun sayings. But I have to give a shout out to my boy Gibson. We have been away for a bit and I haven't had the time to document a few accomplishments.

1: He has been walking for about 5 weeks now. Starting off slow and with 10 steps here and 10 steps there. About a week later he was in full walking fashion. It is crazy to see him walking around trying to keep up with Etta.

Last week while playing outside I finally got him on camera

B: He is a chatter box. Most things you can't understand but he loves trying to talk in on the conversation anyway. Favorite words that are fun to here him say, "Cheese" for the camera, "Weeee" when were are riding rides or having fun, "Yes" when asked questions, and "Hatch" when talking about Hatcher the dog.

Third: He also loves giving Hugs and Kiss and will do it voluntarily or if asked. It is darling he just wraps his little arms around you and squeezes tight. For kisses his mouth is still open and then when he is done he will do the lip smacking sound. Dang cute!

And last: He is a big boy in a big boy bed. No more crib for Gibby. We took down his crib about a week and half ago. He sleeps great on the bottom bunk for naps and night time and just loves his new bed. He doesn't get out until I come get him, but we will see how long that lasts.

Vegas Baby!

Andy and I headed off to Las Vegas on Sunday for a couple of child free days. We stayed at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay. Oh my Gosh, that place is posh. First everything was labeled "THE" in the room and around THEHotel, from THE Cafe to THE Toilet paper. The room was large and had an extra study/TV room. A very nice two sink vanity in the bathroom. I have stayed at some nice places (Honeymoon and when I was a nanny) this one ranks right up there if not better. Enjoy some sweet pictures, that doesn't do the room justice.

Sunday evening we walked up the strip to the Bellagio where we watch the amazing water fountain show. Headed back home to get ready for Monday. We spent the first part of the day at the outlet malls. Andy bought me my very first girl purse, my very first Coach purse. The rest of the day was spent laying out by the wave pool in the sand. Yep they have THE Beach there at Mandalay bay and it was perfect. One big wave would come in every 30 sec which you could body surf or just listen to the waves roll in. Monday night we headed over to the Stratoshpere to watch a Las Vegas show "BITE". Not the best show we could have chosen and we wont see again. Maybe next time I will talk Andy into an Opera or something.
Funny story on our way back to the hotel the cab driver's car broke down and after waiting 10 min we hopped into another cab driver's car while our cab driver was yelling at him and calling him a stealer. Hey dude get your car running or get someone to come get us fast and you could have kept your money.
Tuesday was another day spent at THE beach. Then we headed home. It was fun to get away for just Andy and Me time and two days were perfect.

The Circus, The circus

Sunday afternoon we headed to the Delta Center for the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey's Circus. We stopped by the animals before the show and the Elephants were for sure the favorites.

Once we got in we went down on the floor and meet some funny clowns, played on some props and watch the entertainers warm up. It was getting a bit crowded so we headed to our seats and watched from our great seats. Thank you Daddy!

Grandma Donna came to Play

Grandma Donna from Reno came to visit and we were lucky to have her form 6 days. She bought Etta some fun tape shoes and leotard and they both tapped around the house. Grandma Donna taught her some fun little steps.
Gibby loved the extra attention, goodies and smiles. She had them singing, laughing and dancing to fun new songs.

Grandma Donna did a great job watching Etta and Gibby on Monday and Tuesday while we were away. She took Etta to preschool, Gibby to the store, they watched movies, went shopping and played at the park. What a GREAT Grandma.
