What have we been up to?

The last week in February I got really sick and have not felt well enough to blog since then. There were a few pictures and activities that took place these last 2 weeks. I needed to post them in order to catch up before we start playing more now that the weather is getting warmer.

Gibby's Check up

Gibson has been under weight for the last 3 months. And each time we go into see the Dr he gains 2-3 oz. Well February was our lucky month he Gained 1 whole LB. He is starting to feel plumper and is of course just as happy as can be. He loves laughing at anything and everything. He is the best at sitting up but lately tries his darnedest to move across the floor backwards to get what he wants. Still waiting for the actual crawling action but kids will grow when they do. I want him to stay a baby forever since he is my last. And for right now he is just that My Sweet Little Baby!

weighing in at 14 lbs 10 oz

Etta and Her MP3 Player

Etta loves listening to two songs right now on her MP3 player. Spoonful of Sugar and Chim Chimeny. Both from Mary Popins which she doesn't like to watch. Her Favorite Movie this month is Alice in Wonderland. She is growing up so fast and has gotten a little diva attitude. She has mastered the "eye roll" when I ask her questions. I am terrified of the teenage years to come.

Eating breakfast and trying to sing her favorite songs.

Free Zoo Day

The Hogle Zoo was having free Zoo day. It was going to be a beautiful day so we headed over to the Zoo after Etta's Preschool class. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. Etta just loved all the Animals. If I would have let her she would have stayed in front of the animal attractions all day. We had a monkey up close and personal right at the window. The Elephants where all out enjoying the sun and the Tiger loved entertaining the crowd walking back and forth for all to see. We were there for about 2 hours which was 1/2 hour longer than we should have stayed. Etta had an accident and Gibby, well he was asleep an hour after we got there. We did have fun and will look forward to many more Zoo trips this spring and summer.

Classic ball picture. The only one with Etta not trying to drink the water.

Gibby happy to have the Chariot all to himself.

Etta and her animals.

Gibby was trying to get out to play with the Elephants.

I love the Giraffes and Etta thought they were pretty too.

We hit the playground at the end to get the last bit of Etta's energy out before we headed home.

Jazz BBQ Night

Last week we headed over to the Energy Solutions Arena for a BBQ and pictures with the Jazz Players. We got there and there was some pretty tasty food laid out. We found a nice little corner to eat in. Etta loved the fruit and Gibby loved the beans and BBQ Chicken.
They had schedules of where and when certain Jazz Players would be taking pictures or signing autographs. We wanted to get Daron Williams and Kyle Korver's picture but the line was extremely long. By the time we got up to the front they had switched the players. But Andrei Kirilenko was there now and he was great with Gibson.

Andrei Kirilenko and Jason Hart

Then we just kind of hit short lines and took pictures with who we could. Etta was having a night where she was not to happy being held by anyone except mommy. Gibby went to everyone. Ronnie Brewer was not to comfortable holding Gibby, but it made for a fun picture.

Coach Phil Johnson and Ronnie Brewer

Andy let one lady take a picture of all of us. He didn't like it so he took another one with just me and the kids.

Paul Millsap and Coach Tyrone Corbin

Both the kids got pictures with the Jazz girls because they were just walking around and no lines.

Etta wasn't to Happy to be with the Jazz Girls but Gibby was just the happiest little boy.

Gibby started getting a little board of the players so we packed up and headed home.

Jarron Collins and C.J. Miles

We had fun but were a little frustrated at the lack of organization for such a large organization.

Monster Jam!

Andy took us all to see Monster Jam. I must admit it was pretty cool. It was extremely loud. We put ear plugs in both Gibson's and Etta's ears. They looked so cute with little yellow plugs sticking out of their ears. Also whenever the trucks started their engines we would cover our hands over their ears. Etta of course wanted to do it "all myself" and so she would cover her own ears. It was so cute. They both watched the big trucks for most of the time. Gibby wouldn't take his eyes off the trucks for the first 1/2 hour. Then he got hungry. Etta liked the little ATV's that raced. She called them the "mini" trucks.
They did some big jumps, dough nuts and races. I was surprised at how well they handled those huge trucks. I hate backing up in our truck let alone something that big. I guess that is why I was in the stands and the drivers where driving the MONSTER TRUCKS.

Daddy and Gibson watching Monster Trucks! My pretty princess.Mommy with a big cheesy grin. Gibby looks so cute with his earplugs.Etta making sure her earplugs where in right.

Andy took some cool video footage. King Krunch and Obsession where my favorites and here they are racing each other.

You can kind of tell how loud it is from the video.

Andy found a King Krunch Monster Truck he bought for Etta and Gibson. We have been having some Fun Times at the Energy Solutions Arena!

Valentine's Day or Valentine's Week

We started on Monday and Ended on Thursday making Valentine's for all of Etta's friends. With a toddler they will only do a project or activity for 5-10 minutes and then it is off to something else. So with bracelets for the girls, painting toy trucks or airplanes for the boys and cards it was going to have to be 5 minutes here and there until they were done.
For the girls we made pretty jelly bracelets with little trinkets on them. Etta picked out colors for each of her friends and I put the bracelets together. For the boys we got out the paint so Etta could have some fun. She enjoyed painting with blue, orange, purple and green but by the last toy she had mixed all the colors and thought that was pretty cool. The cards were simple. I just cut our hearts glued them to some paper and let her color on them for her own little touch. Those took the longest because she only would do 3 at once and we had to make about 15 of them. It was fun to do something a little different then candy.

Etta had a ton of fun painting her Valentine's.

Gibby just liked getting his picture taken.

For Andy we made him a homemade Apple pie and some fun cards. He was really excited to eat the pie and took the cards to his work for his desk. Thursday morning he took us all out to breakfast. We went to Eggs in the City (one of my Favorites). We ordered whatever we wanted. He had dinner plans for Me on Friday, gave Etta a cute little "tootles" headband toy from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Gibby got stacking rings. We were spoiled and loved treats from our special Daddy Valentine.

Etta with her cute "tootles".

On Friday we went to Music Makers where we did fun Valentine's songs, ate goodies and played with friends. Etta enjoyed the suckers while Gibby just wanted to play with the toys.

Gibby just chillin' while all the other kids play around him.

Etta having fun on the teeter totter. Trying to get a group picture.

That night we dropped the kids off at our Friends house and Andy took me to the Pine Restaurant in Murray. It was delicious and I loved being just us together for a couple of hours. Then instead of dessert there we went to Maggie Moo's for some Ice Cream (again my Favorite).

I enjoy Valentine's and love how it is a special day to remind us how much we love the people in our lives.

First Day of Preschool

I have gotten together with 4 other mothers that had daughters Etta's age. We put together a 15 week course for a little Preschool. Wednesday was the first Day and Etta was really excited. She made sure she had her backpack and inside were her favorite items; Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, stickers and her princess make up compact. I added a change of panties and pants just in case of an accident.
Off we went to Kathy's house. When we got there Etta was a little worried and it was the first time she clung on to me and wouldn't go play. Then her friends and toys distracted her I headed out.
It was just Me and my little boy to spend some fun one on one time. We went to the library for book baby and he loved every minute of it.
This is going to by great for Etta and Gibby. I am so excited and glad to be doing this. Etta is already learning so much. She brought home the cutest craft hearts and says with at big smile "Happy Valentines".

Etta already to go to Preschool. Grinning for ear to ear.

Heading inside. You always have to get the picture before they enter school.

Gibby playing with the instruments/eating the instruments.

When we went to pick Etta up we had to take a class picture. (There is one more little girl who will be joining them next week)

Trying to catch up

We have had some fun times this last week. I have taken tons of pictures and wanted to make sure to add them before I skip over them.

We went swimming again with the whole family. We love the Murray pool. Etta loves the big slide and the water is so warm. Gibby loves splashing now and does a great job on his back. I want to go at least once a week so Andy can get Etta swimming and so she is not holding onto our necks with such a tight death grip. And work on Gibby too.

We babysat some of my friends children the other night. They were playing tea and dress up and I so I brought Hatcher in to see how they would react. Both of the kids I was watching just loved him. And of course Etta loves her Hatcher.

Hatcher was glad to join in on the babysitting.

Etta and her friend E calling and talking to their Daddies. Check out Etta's shoes when ever we have her friends over she always puts their shoes on.

For some reason kids love putting sunglasses on upside down. But don't they both just look so cute!

And of course the famous tea party shot.
