Playhouse Disney

We went to watch "Playhouse Disney" at the Energy Solutions Arena. It was done by the same company the puts on all the "Disney on Ice" and "Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus". It was similar to a concert/Play. Not the best show we have gone to see. I think every child there just wanted to see Mickey Mouse and they didn't show him enough. They acted out clips from 4 different shows on Disney Channel.

-My Friends Tigger and Pooh
-Little Einsteins
-Handy Manny (My favorite)
and
-Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

They didn't have all the Mickey Mouse characters there and the Hostess/postess was on too much which kind of made her the focus instead of Mickey Mouse. But the thing that was important was that Etta Liked it and had fun.

We went with some friends that have two kids pretty close to our kids ages. Carter and Etta have fun playing together and enjoyed the show. They both weren't to happy until Mickey Mouse came on stage and of course during the "Hot Dog Song" they both got up and danced.

Just a few pictures from our fun Family Activity:

Etta loves the books they have that show all the actors and story line.

Gibby just loves paper.

Andy and Gibby were not entertained and fell asleep.

Me and Etta just sang most of the songs together.

Etta and Cater had tons of fun.

Etta, "thanks daddy". Daddy just glad it is over.

We will stick with the "on ice" and "circus" shows from now on.

Eating everything but the Kitchen Sink

Gibson's weight has been staying around the 13lbs range since he was 5 months old. The doctor has had us come in each month to check his weight and growth. Last month at 7 months he still had only gained 2 oz. We will be going in on the 20th to check his weight again and I know he has gained at least 2 lbs. He eats everything. We started with veggies, added some fruit and now he eats what ever we eat at dinner.

Here is just a small list of some of Gibby's favorites:

Spaghetti
avocado
salmon
steak
turkey
pinto beans
ham
peas
broccoli
banana
chicken
blueberries
raisins
and corn
*the last three have next day proof of what he ate.

He loves feeding himself and does a great job with the finger foods. His two little front bottom teeth help him out a lot. He can get a little messy so her are some fun shots of Gibby. He gets so excited when the camera is on him.

Spaghetti face!

Avocado and Turkey boy.

Laughing for the camera covered in Banana's

Loving that he can feed himself.

When ever I take pictures of Gibby my little princess Etta always wants her picture taken to. Her famous words "my turn".

Sledding

We went sledding at Sugar house Park the other day. Andy brought airboard sleds from Out N Back to use. Etta loved it and went down a number of times by herself. Her little red nose looked so cute accompanied with a big smile. Hatcher loved chasing anyone who was going down the hill and so excited to be outside playing with the family. Gibson and Mommy sat and watched for a while and then headed up the hill for a small little "Gibby first sledding". He seemed happy.
Andy was making a story for the Herald online on places to go play. So he was video taping and I was snapping tons of pictures. Andy and I raced down the hill once. I let him win/lead so Hatcher would chase him and not me.

My happy little man. Gibby looking and wishing he could go sledding.

Here comes Hatcher and Etta.

Andy did go down with Etta once, but after that she said "by myself".

Hatcher running down the hill and finishing off the run with some snow.

Mommy and Gibby going down. What a big boy.

Happy Etta and heading back up the hill.

1. pushing sled up the hill.

2. deciding if it is up far enough.

3. Trying to get on before it slides down.

Here comes Andy. He was happy with his distance.

On his way back up.

It was a little gloomy but work out for us because no one else was sledding. If we keep having more of these little snow blizzards we may have more little trips to Sugar house park.

Just Playing Around

We had a lot of fun this last week. Etta has been trying to be "mommy's helper". On Monday she told me "I am big now and can hold baby Gibson". So I grabbed the camera to get a few shots before Gibson tried to squirm away.

She was doing great and then her grip tightened up and Gibby didn't like that.

She then said Gibby needed to hold the baby doll. But Gibby had enough and broke through her iron grip.

On Wednesday we met up with our good friends Angelica and Layla. They live in Arizona now and come visit their family often. We are happy when we can snatch them away for a couple of hours for ourselves. We went to a fun little place called the kid barn.

Etta played for half hour before Layla got there and was doing everything herself. I was so proud that she could climb up the ladders herself.
Layla had ear infections in both ears and had to go to the InstaCare just before our play date. But was a trooper all through the jumping slides and lunch. They both remembered each other, held hands and gave each other cute hugs. Etta constantly told everyone that day and Thursday that "I got to play with my friend Layla".

Layla and Etta playing in the tunnels.

Best friends holding hands and giving hugs.

Bye Layla see you real soon!

Gibby's favorite thing is just sitting and playing/eating his legos. He will play for a while and just be the happiest little boy ever.

Red legos seem to taste the best.
